David McLean is Honourary Chairman of Blackcomb Aviation LP. He is one of Canada’s foremost business leaders and an outspoken champion of business entrepreneurship, education, and engaged corporate citizenship. David McLean has served as Chairman of the Board of the Canadian National Railway since 1994. Born in Calgary, Alberta, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1959 and a Bachelor of Law degree in 1962 from the University of Alberta. In 1972, he founded a real estate and investment firm, The McLean Group, in partnership with Vice Chair, Brenda McLean. Among the Group’s operating business are film and television production services (Vancouver Film Studios and Pacific Backlot Services), telecommunications (Signal Systems), commercial and residential construction (Harbour Landing Construction), and aviation (Blackcomb Aviation). David McLean has served as Chairman of the Vancouver Board of Trade, Director for De Havilland Aircraft of Canada, Chairman of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Governors at the University of British Columbia, and founding Chairman of the Centre of North American Business Studies at Simon Fraser University. David McLean is the recipient of four honourary doctorates of law (LL.D) and, in 1999, was appointed to the Order of British Columbia. More recently, he was appointed as Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD Fellow, 2006).

Sacha McLean is Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Blackcomb Aviation LP which is co-owned by the McLean family of the McLean Group and by Blackcomb’s President, John Morris. He is a commercial helicopter pilot and a fixed wing pilot, and past member of the Vancouver International Airport’s Advisory Environmental Committee. An accomplished business entrepreneur, Sacha is widely recognized for his instrumental role in the formation and expansion of the McLean Group’s flagship production facility, Vancouver Film Studios and its subsidiary companies, Pacific Backlot Services and Signal Systems. Sacha McLean is a current Board member of The McLean Group and Blackcomb Aviation, and a past Board member and Chairman of the Whistler Film Festival.

John Morris
Director and President

John Morris is Director and President of Blackcomb Aviation and original founder of its Vancouver based jet charter, helicopter, and aircraft maintenance division, Omega Aviation. Widely recognized for his leadership role in the successful expansion of multiple aviation services under the Blackcomb Aviation umbrella, John is equally known for his distinguished flying career. This career began in 1975 when he was flying float planes off the west coast of British Columbia. John later moved into the business of managing and flying various transport category aircraft and in 1980, commenced his extensive helicopter career. Today, John Morris holds airline transport licences for both fixed wing and helicopters and has over 16000 flight hours. A true aviation entrepreneur, John Morris remains an active fixed wing and rotary pilot at Blackcomb Aviation.

Jason McLean is Chairman and Secretary of Blackcomb Aviation. In addition to providing corporate, legal, and business development counsel to Blackcomb, Jason is President and Chief Executive Officer of the McLean Group. Jason was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2000 (LLB, 1999) and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Owner President Management Program. He is certified member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D), Finance Chair of the Vancouver Police Board, and Chair of The Vancouver Board of Trade. Prior to joining the McLean Group and Blackcomb Aviation, Jason worked as Special Assistant to Prime Minister, Jean Chrétien.
